Customs Broker

Customs Broker

Customs brokers are licensed by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and empowered to assist and represent corporations, banks, manufacturers, associations and other businesses engaged in international trade in meeting federal requirements governing imports and exports.

This program is designed to prepare you for the Customs Broker License Examination (CBLE) given by U.S. Customs. The CBLE, offered twice per year, is a comprehensive and demanding four-hour test. In recent exams, as few as 11% passed. It has been reported that those taking a comprehensive test preparation course such as we offer have increased their chance of passing to at least 70%.

In addition, Baruch's Customs Broker License Preparation Certificate includes the test preparation course within a comprehensive program of intensive study in all the areas tested in the CBLE. This preparation is ideal if you are:

  • A private individual, partnership, association or corporation seeking license to represent importers and exporters before the CBP.
  • A manager or supervisor in the field of imports or exports. This license is a sought-after qualification for those dealing with compliance and security matters.
For more information about the CBLE exam and schedule, see the US Customs and Border Patrol web site.
