The untimely death of Raphael Blanco will leave lasting emotional scars in the years to come for many faculty, students and staff. The sudden death of a loved one or even a casual acquaintance is not a situation that we can prepare for and it can take its toll on our emotional well-being. Loss can be experienced both mentally and physically. Symptoms of grief include the inability to sleep, loss of appetite, depression, social isolation and severe anxiety. As we struggle to make sense of this tragic event we encourage students to express their loss, pain and confusion to close friends and relatives.
Walk-in counseling services are available on March 12 in NVC 2-110 from 9 AM – 5 PM.
After this date, you may schedule an appointment to speak with one of our counselors by calling 646-312-2155 or by stopping by our office located at 137 East 25th Street on the 9th Floor.

Mission: Helping students succeed
The mission of the Counseling Center is to help students realize their educational, career and personal goals. The Center is staffed with experienced licensed psychologists, psychiatrists, clinical social workers, and supervised pre-doctoral graduate students, who not only work toward reducing the interference of everyday stress on goals and treating more serious conditions, but who do so with a respect for multicultural issues.
