The Office of eTech is here to provide assistance with integrating available technologies such as Tegrity, eLearning, eInstruction CPS clickers, and Turnitin that can aid in revolutionizing your classroom experience.
Tegrity is an Internet-based tool that automatically captures and synchronizes lecture audio and digital output (anything that is displayed through the classroom projector, including output from the computer, document camera, etc.). Tegrity divides each class recording into chapters based on instructor slide changes and application switching. After each session, the graphic and audio files are automatically uploaded. Using a link in WebCT/eLearning, students can then replay the entire lecture or only selected slides.
View our online tutorial for more information on using Tegrity in eLearning (PDF).

The University has implemented eLearning, a learning management system that is the upgrade of WebCT. The Faculty Resource Center is offering hands-on workshops and individualized help in migrating courses created in WebCT into eLearning. Visit the Faculty Resource Center eLearning page to learn about new and improved features in eLearning.

The eInstruction Classroom Performance Systems (CPS) promote student engagement through the use of student response pads (clickers) to capture instant feedback. Instructors can use CPS to poll the entire class to gauge comprehension or attitudes, to take attendance, or for testing and quizzes. The new radio frequency (RF) clickers allow students to respond to both multiple choice and numeric questions in classes and also include a symbol button for higher level math and science questions.
If you are interested in using CPS, please contact Dr. Julia Hartman. If the classroom in which you teach is not already equipped with an eInstruction receiver, eTech will install one.
The University has purchased a license to Turnitin, an Internet-based plagiarism-prevention service. Registered instructors may submit student papers to Turnitin or may allow students to register and submit papers as an assignment. A peer-review option is also available.
The Faculty Resource Center provides support for using Turnitin and usually conducts workshops in using Turnitin’s services once a term.
If you would like additional information, please contact eTech’s Dr. Julia Hartman, Coordinator of A&S Instructional Development.
