The College of Arts and Sciences is the state’s most comprehensive liberal arts college at both the undergraduate and graduate level. The College has 84 degree programs in 23 academic departments or schools and includes 13 doctoral programs and 31 master’s programs. It’s fine and performing arts programs at the undergraduate and graduate level are the most comprehensive in the state and enjoy regional and national reputations.
The College is the largest of the University’s 12 divisions with approximately 6,500 undergraduates and 1,000 graduate students yet in many ways it is the University’s smallest college. With a number of close-knit learning communities and student centered activities in each of its 23 departments, the College offers many places for students to call their academic home.
The College employs 360 tenure-track faculty and 250 staff and support personnel.
In addition, the College includes over 24 research centers and ancillary units that have vibrant research, public service, and educational programs.
