Known Software Issues
This page contains the known issues that have an impact on Designers and Instructors. Please contact blshelp@albany.edu with any unexpected behavior you experience with the BLS software, and we will try to replicate, test, and research the issue.Faculty Technology Resources will keep the page updated with information about your observations and the questions you ask.
Designers and Instructors see a Demo Student Tab that allows them to see and experience their course design as a student would.
Exception: On the Demo Student's Announcement page, Designers and Instructors will see a [Create Announcement] button. Your enrolled students cannot create announcements, and they will not see the [Create Announcement] button. The button is in the Demo Student view for your convenience.

Links created in the HTML editor will open in a new window unless you specify a link target attribute in the source code. Since BLS is displayed in frames, you must add [ target="_self" ] to have the linked file open within BLS.
Example: The default source code for a link will open in a new window looks like this: <a href="url or filename.html">
To have the link open in the same frame in BLS, the source code would look like this: <a href="url or filename.html" target="_self">

The BLS CE6 Search Tool may display files or private posts that students should not have access to. ITS has disabled the Search Tool in BLS until the software developer addresses the issue.
