Welcome to the Center for Regenerative Biology

The mission of the Center for Regenerative Biology (CRB) is to advance fundamental, interdisciplinary research in stem cell biology, developmental biology and related areas with the ultimate goal of translating discoveries into new therapies for debilitating human conditions. CRB faculty actively participate in the training of graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in regenerative bioscience, and serve the vital mission of advancing education and public understanding of stem cell biology.

Sniffing out Parkinson disease September 14, 2011 Research findings from the laboratory of Joanne Conover were published today in the Journal of Neuroscience. Read about the study at UConn Today.

Theodore Rasmussen, Urs Boelsterli, and Winfried Krueger were awarded a $1.29 million grant by the Connecticut Stem Cell Research Advisory Committee to characterize the genetic risk determinants of drug-induced liver damage, using human iPS cells from high and low risk patients. Michael Tassavor selected as a Rowe Scholar April 18, 2011. Michael Tassavor (’12, MCB major) also received a Rowe Research Award for the project titled, "Measuring Viral Titer to Analyze Transduction Efficiency in Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells," conducted in the laboratory of Dr. X.
