Approval to offer a new degree in either a new or an already existing major requires approval on the part of the department planning to offer it as well as the C&C Committee and Dean of the School or College of initiation. When the Board of Trustees and the Department of Higher Education have approved the program, Vice Provost for Academic Affairs will sign the Degree Program/Major Processing Form and send a copy to the Office of the Registrar. Upon receipt of the form, the degree name will be added to the Student Administration system using the appropriate Effective Date.
The approval process must be completed by the end of December in order to become effective in May of the following year.
