to Report an Emergency
In the event of an emergency, multiple communication methods will be deployed to alert the community to an emergency as quickly as possible. You may be notified of an emergency in several ways.
State sales tax holidays are the perfect opportunity to ensure your disaster supply kit is up-to-date or to buy other items which may help you during a disaster. With hurricane season approaching, there is no better time to stock up on preparedness supplies.
Take advantage of state sales tax holidays which in Virginia are August 7-9.
Charlottesville-UVA-Albemarle Emergency Communications Center has updated their mass notification system with a new tool to reach community members in an emergency. Citizens can now register with the Community Emergency Alert system to receive recorded phone messages, text messages or e-mail messages in case of emergency. The system is also TTY/TDD compatible.
