You must participate in several of the listed required activities in order to determine suitability to receive training funds. Required Activities to participate in the programs below include:

Programs
South Suburban College announces a program that will provide an opportunity for individuals who have been laid off as a result of the struggling economy to improve their situations. The SSC Board of Trustees granted the administration permission to implement a tuition-free program for residents of College District 510 who have become unemployed. Qualified Rebound Students do not pay tuition costs or fees, only their books. An individual may choose from eighteen (18) different programs available.

For those individuals that are:
- Unlikely to return to prior industry or occupation
- Laid off or terminated due to plant closure and/or substantial layoff
- Formerly self-employed but now unemployed
- A displaced homemaker.
A one year commitment after job placement is required.
A year round program providing all above mentioned services including:
- Internships
- On-the-job training for individuals with barriers to employment
- Basic Academic Skills Deficiency
Participants of the program are paid an hourly wage through the Job Training Department. A one year commitment after job placement is required.
