Research: Conducts quality programs in soil fertility and plant nutrition research of economic importance to southern Idaho. Focuses on the development of soil and plant tests for predicting irrigated crop nutrient requirements.
Extension: Maintains and fosters good working relationships with local cereal commodity groups and related agribusiness. Educates county agents and agribusiness in cereal crop management subject areas and prepares extension publications. Conducts field demonstrations, trials, and tours to evaluate and hasten the adoption of new systems or practices having potential for increasing the net economic returns to producers..
