The Corporate Training and Continuing Education department offers non-credit workforce programs to the public on a wide variety of topics, as well as customized corporate training for business and industry.

The EKG Technician program is a 216-hour hands-on program that provides specific training in Introductory Electrocardiography, Intermediate Electrocardiography and Electrocardiography Clinical. HCC provides national certification testing with the American Certification Agency for Healthcare Professionals (ACA) throughout the year. Upon successful completion of the EKG Technician program graduates are eligible for employment in a hospital or healthcare facility.

The Phlebotomy program is a 200-hour, hands-on certificate program students will learn theory and principle related to obtaining blood specimens from patients. You will gain proficiency with performance of blood collection through lab exercises and integrated clinical practice. HCC provides national certification testing with the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) throughout the year. Upon successful completion of the Phlebotomy program graduates are eligible for employment in a hospital or healthcare facility.

This course prepares the student in the preparation and administration of designated medications by non-licensed nursing personnel employed in licensed health care agencies, including the responsibilities associated with such administration.
Student must be currently employed in a facility as a nurse aide or non-licensed direct care staff person on the first official day of the medication aide training program. Student must also have been employed for 90 days in a nursing home, MHMR or TDCJ facility within the twelve-month period preceding the course. GED or high school diploma required.
