Three easy steps to finding international school partnerships

Get registered! If you are a teacher in a school or an educator who is interested in getting involved in international professional development exchanges with teachers from the UK and around the world, then the British Council Connecting Classrooms Online Community is an ideal place to get you started.

In order to access some of the restricted areas of the community, such as some of the forum discussions and project resources, we recommend you register as a member.

Talk to teachers in our online forums If you are a teacher looking to participate in a joint curriculum project with schools from the UK and overseas, you can find lots of teachers to talk to in our online forum section. You will find lots of discussions on many different kinds of international school projects that will interest and excite you and your pupils.

Join a joint currilum project If you are interested in taking part in one of our online projects, you will find lots to choose from in our projects section.

We have 20 template projects which we hope will be of interest to you and each project as a teacher's guide which you can download for your easy reference.

ICT Awards

The Connecting Classrooms ICT awards are currently undergoing further development and will be available again soon. We will make an announcement here on the British Council Schools Online Community to inform you when the ICT awards will be reopened.

Meanwhile we would like to thank you for your ongoing support and congratulate all those who have achieved success through the British Council Connecting Classrooms ICT Awards.

Enterprise Challenge Competitions British Council ran Enterprise Challenge competitions under the Skills for Employability programme.It is for young people that highlighted excellence in enterprise, innovation and technology.

We are running this regional challenge virtually where all the winning teams have prepared videos of their projects, which are placed online.

The winner of the challenge will be decided by General Public online voting and judges marks. The voting will be open till 10th of March 2011. Vote here to get chance to win a mystery prize.

100 Words

100 words is a project for young people that opens their imagination, taps into their creativity and creates global connections.

The competition will enable students to share and compare aspects of their life and language. Find out more about this project from your country project contact.

Social Action Project

Social Action Projects can help students to become global citizens through active participation in their own communities. It were piloted through Connecting Classrooms in Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan in 2009 and are now open to schools in those countries working on CC online.

365 Days to London 2012 British Council is working with more than 600 Bangladeshi schools through different projects across Bangladesh. We would like to invite all of these schools to celebrate 365 days until the 2012 Olympics by taking part in a photography competition.

Unesco in Bangladesh UNESCO Bangkok and the British Council collaborate to help Bangladeshi teachers discover the possibilities of Project-Based Learning and ICT tool use for better collaborative learning. The workshop took place from 17-19 June in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
