Loggin on through the Portal...

The main CUNY portal (www.cuny.edu) gives you access to BlackBoard, as well as other CUNY services tailored to your identity (for example, ePermits for students, Trustees reports for faculty...)

The Portal is the place where you can set your profile, including email for a forgotten Portal password (note: this email address has nothing to do with your BlackBoard email address!)

Logging on through the Back Door

When the CUNY Portal is not functioning, there is another entry point to BlackBoard which skips the portal. Through this "back door" (blackboard-doorway.cuny.edu) you can log on to BlackBoard, but will not have any features that are available from the Portal.
