WHEREAS: The employees of the University of Virginia learned that the Board of Visitors and President Sullivan "mutually agreed that she will step down as president of the University of Virginia effective August 15, 2012;" and

WHEREAS: It is unclear what "faster pace of change in administrative structure, in governance, in financial resource development and in resource prioritization and allocation" the Board favors.

NOW THEREFORE the Provost Employee Communication Council supports the June 11, 2012, UVa Faculty Senate Executive Council Statement on the Board of Visitors Decision Concerning President Sullivan calling for "a full and candid explanation" and requests the Board of Visitors clearly outline their vision and goals so that the University employees may better fulfill the Board's direction and desires.
