Protecting Social Security Numbers
The University of Florida actively limits and protects the personal identification information that it collects. Florida Law also requires that Social Security Numbers (SSNs) only be used in University systems, business forms and processes if the use is required by other laws, or, if not required, only with special permission from University officials.
Social Security Number training is required annually for all UF personnel who use SSNs in their work or research.
