The Barclays Premier League attracts fans from all over the world. You can find people wearing t-shirts with the names of Premier League clubs and players all over the globe. What is it about the beautiful game that attracts such a following?

In this section, you will find videos that might answer that question. This section is all about football fans like you; fans from around the world who are prepared to tell their stories.

You could win a football shirt! 

The videos need to be under 2 minutes long and less than 30 mb. At the end of the month, all of the usernames of people who have sent us a video will be put into a hat and one lucky winner will be pulled out! If we select your name, then you will win a replica shirt for your favourite club.

Terms and Conditions of Premier Skills English "Why I am" Competition

The Premier Skills English "Why I am" competition is subject to the following terms and conditions. By entering this competition entrants are deemed to accept these terms and conditions.

  1. The Premier Skills English "Why I am" competition is subject to the following terms and conditions. By entering this competition entrants are deemed to accept these terms and conditions
  2. The Premier Skills English "Why I am" competition is open to football fans aged 12 or over, other than employees of the British Council and the Premier League, and their relatives, family, or  household members. The Competition Organiser reserves the right to require proof of eligibility.
  3. Entrants aged under 18 require parental or guardian consent to enter the Premier Skills English “Why I am” competition. The Competition Organiser reserves the right to require proof of the relevant consents. By submitting the online entry form you agree to allow your child to enter.
  4. Videos submitted by entrants under 18, will not be published on the site unless contact has been made with the entrants’ parents confirming their consent.
  5. An Entry is a video in English about why the entrant currently supports a Barclays Premier League club from the 2011-12 season.
  6. Entries should be no longer than two minutes in length and not more than 30MB in size. You can also upload the following file formats: avi .dv .mov .qt .mpg .mpg2 .mpeg2 .mpeg4 .mp4 .3gp .3g2 .asf .wmv .flv. If you are using a mobile phone make sure you film in landscape.
  7. Entries must be submitted online using the online entry form here. Contact details and all other mandatory fields must be completed, and all entries must be submitted online by midnight on the last day of the month for the entrant to be eligible for that month's prize draw.
  8. The British Council will not accept responsibility for any entries or files that are corrupt, damaged, lost or inaccessible.
  9. Entries into the Premier Skills English "Why I am" competition must be the original work of the person or people submitting the entry and must not contain any third party materials or content (e.g. video, audio, text, or image). The British Council will not be responsible for breach of any copyright or other third party rights by the entrants.
  10. At the discretion of the Competition Organiser, entries containing defamatory or illegal content will not be accepted.
  11. Each calendar month from November, 2011 till July 2012, one winner will be randomly selected from the list of entrants that calendar month. That winner will receive a replica shirt from the team that they support. 
  12. Winners will be notified by telephone or email and a list of prize winners will be published on the Premier Skills English website. All reasonable efforts will be made to contact the winners.
  13. If the winners cannot be contacted after all reasonable efforts the Competition Organiser will randomly select a second entrant for that calendar month.
  14. Prizes are not transferable and cannot be sold. The Competition Organisers reserve the right to substitute, in their reasonable discretion, any prize with a prize of equal value. No cash alternative will be offered for the prize.
  15. The Entrant shall retain all ownership rights in any entry to the Premier Skills English "Why I am" competition. However, by submitting the entry the Entrant grants the Organiser a universal, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sub-licensable and transferable licence to use, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of, display, adapt, reformat, translate and otherwise exploit and perform all or any portion of the Entry for any purpose whatsoever, including, without limitation, in connection with promotion of the British Council and Premier League activities in any and all media formats and through any and all media distribution, advertising and promotional purposes without accounting, notification, credit or other obligation to the Entrant.  Entrants further agree that the Competition Organisers may edit and manipulate the content of the Entry for operational and editorial reasons provided this is not to the detriment of the Entrant's character or reputation.
  16. By entering, any subsequent prize winners agree to allow, and consent to, British Council and Premier League use of, and right to publish, entrant's name, photographs, images, all personal and other information (including general locations) for purposes of British Council and Premier League publicity, promotional and news purposes (including use in printed publications, editorial and PR activities, on websites) related to this competition.
  17. The Organiser of the Premier Skills English "Why I am" competition is the British Council, a body incorporated by Royal Charter and registered as a charity in England & Wales (charity number 209131) and in Scotland (charity number SC037733), whose principal office is at 10 Spring Gardens, London SW1A 2BN.
  18. The Premier Skills English "Why I am" competition is governed by the laws of England, where the competition is hosted.
  19. The British Council reserves the right to cancel or amend these terms and conditions without prior notice in the event that unforeseen circumstances make this unavoidable. Any amendments will be published on www.britishcouncil.org/premierskills
