Financial Aid
Who is Eligible and When to Apply
The Student Financial Affairs Office at Criser Hall on the main campus of the University of Florida coordinates and processes financial aid applications for Pell Grants, Direct Student Loans, Perkin Loans, Plus Loans, Florida State Grants, etc. This office can be contacted by calling (352) 392-1275. You should apply for federal aid by using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in January of the year you intend to begin pharmacy school. The deadline is March 15th.
For more information on applying for aid, please visit http://www.sfa.ufl.edu. You may also watch Alicia Keaton’s infosession, recorded on October 21st, 2012 that addresses many of the financial aid issues pharmacy students will face.
The College of Pharmacy has several scholarships and awards available to its students once admitted to the program. Most of this financial aid is provided by private pharmaceutical organizations; however, the College offers funds directly through two endowments, the Jack Eckerd and Charlotte Liberty Family pharmacy scholarships. There are approximately ten scholarships from these funds, available to students admitted to the first professional year of study, which will be awarded during the students’ first semester.
After the first professional year in the College of Pharmacy, additional financial aid from several pharmacy sources is available for students in satisfactory academic standing.
