Participants study at Ecole Superieure d'Agriculture, learning about international marketing and finance, the World Trade Organization, European consumer behavior and agri-business, and French civilization. An extensive field trip to Paris and Brussels is also offered. Students will stay with host families or on campus. Credit can be transferred into appropriate major requirements. The price includes transportation, tuition, lodging, food, and $300 in spending money.

Students gain first-hand experience in the British approach to urban and community forestry and tree protection during urban planning and development. This program will be offered at Myerscough College, near Manchester and Liverpool. It incorporates lectures from faculty and expert practitioners, field tours, and individual projects as well as trips to various gardens and historic places. Participants will gain an in-depth understanding of policies and approaches that could be utilized in the U.S. The price includes instructional costs, transportation in England, four weeks lodging and meals. Tuition and airfare (approximately $700) are additional.

Students spend four weeks in the land of Mozart, Mendel, Mucha, and Kafka; see the best-preserved medieval towns in Europe; visit castles and archaeological sites; stay in the center of the old capital of the Holy Roman Empire; experience part of Central Europe's culture; and come away with new ways of looking at the Old World. The Czech Republic presents a unique opportunity to experience 30,000 years of European history, from the earliest prehistoric settlements through the fall of the Iron Curtain. "Britain and Ireland in Depth" is a 17-day tour of four nations, which will include an exciting itinerary of visits to major historical sites including Killarney, Ring of Kerry, Bog Village, Blarney Castle, and Dublin in Ireland; Chester and Dove Cottage in Wales; Lake District, Gretna Green, Ben Nevis, Loch Ness, Edinburgh Castle, and Edinburgh in Scotland; York, Stratford, Bath, Stonehenge, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, and St. Paul's Cathedral in England; and much more.
Sites that have special significance in the study of Celtic folk music will be highlighted. To heighten the European experience, there will be some pre-trip discussions of music and Celtic musical traditions in the late spring.

This program combines four weeks of intensive French classes at Catholic University of Angers and life with a French family. This program has three objectives: improve students' communication in Spanish; increase their appreciation of Hispanic culture; and help them learn about themselves and develop life skills and cultural self-awareness. Students will live with Mexican families and take morning classes in Spanish language and culture, with optional afternoon classes in guitar, cooking, and Mexican crafts. From the rich cultural heritage and vibrant nightlife of Madrid to the chic sophistication of Bar-celona, Spain is among Europe's most intriguing and entertaining destinations. Students can earn up to six credit hours in Spanish culture, language, and literature. Students who take SPAN 201 or 202 may earn humanities credit. Students will develop an international awareness and understanding of the language, culture, and business practices of China. Participants will spend six weeks in China: one week touring Beijing and five weeks studying in Shanghai at Fudan University, one of the top universities in Chiina. They will have the opportunity to visit a variety of cultural sites, including the Great Wall and Forbidden City in Beijing, various places of interest in Shanghai, as well as several industrial firms. Program cost includes airfare, housing, two weekend excursions, group travel, and most Beijing meals. Offered jointly with the College of Architecture, Arts, and Humanities.
