Welcome to Penn State Erie - Police Services

We aim to provide a source of information about Police Services and its activities. You will find within this media safety and crime prevention tips, parking information, and crime statistics, information on the Pennsylvania State University policies on certain topics, as well as resources on criminal, legal, and safety issues.

Police Services is responsible for the protection of and service to the students, faculty, staff, and employees and visitors of Penn State Erie. In addition, the department is charged with the protection of property and the maintenance of order with the enforcement of both the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania State University regulations. The department has full law enforcement authority and is trained in certain emergency medical response.

Police Services employs a total of one sworn Manager, five sworn Police Service Officers, two Property Protection Guards, one staff assistant, and numerous students who work as Student Auxiliary Officers or Police Communications Operators.

Police Services provides protection and service
24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

As well as being your first response in case of a criminal or medical emergency Police Services is also provides all safety-related services that affect the safety and well being of the Penn State Erie community. This includes conducting monthly fire drills in the residence life areas, storage and dissemination of information from material safety data sheets, and the investigation of all accidents and injuries that occur on campus.
