How to manage "Grandma Petersen's" forestland
Reaching consensus on this hypothetical situation is the focus of this year's "Forest Field Days" in Lane County. "Forest Field Days" give middle school students the chance to learn about the challenges and opportunities in managing forest lands. The Oregon Department of Forestry operates an active timber sale program on state forest lands. Timber sales provide economic benefits to communities where the lands are located, and ultimate social and environmental benefits for all Oregonians.

The Tillamook Forest Center is currently open Wednesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The "Find yourself in the forest" Guest Presenter Series debuted at the center in March and runs through October. A different presenter will speak every month - Next up on May 18th: Malcolm Hiatt, ODF Protection Unit Forester, speaking about "Wildfire and you".
