Who Regulates Forest Pesticide Applications?
The Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) administers the
forest practice chemical rules, which protect water quality and other natural resources on forestland. Contact ODF if you think natural resources have been damaged by pesticide applications on forestland.
The
Oregon Department of Agriculture, Pesticide Division (ODA) administers rules relating to applicator licensing, proper application, and pesticide labeling. Contact ODA if you think pesticides have drifted or moved across property lines and have damaged human health or property.

What to do if Someone is Exposed to Pesticides

For non-emergency situations where humans, animals, or the environment may have been affected by pesticides, you can contact the
Pesticide Analytical and Response Center (PARC) at 503-986-6470. Personnel at the Center can consult with health care providers, provide confidential investigations of health effects, and give advice on clean up and exposure prevention.

Aerial Pesticide Application Monitoring
Aerial pesticide application was monitored during the fall of 1997 and the spring of 1999. The
final report, which was published in March 2000, found that the Forest Practice Rules, as currently written, are appropriate for protecting water quality, fish and wildlife habitat, and riparian vegetation.
