The 1987 Legislature established the Forest Trust Land Advisory Committee to advise the State Board of Forestry and the state forester on the management of lands subject to the proivions of statutes, and on other matters in which the counties may have a responsibliity pertaining to forestland.
The 1997 Legislature amended the statutes pertaining to the composition of the committee; the committee is now composed of the Board of Directors of the Council of Forest Trust Land Counties.
The council represents the 15 state/county forest trust land counties in policy matters related to the management of the forestlands and distributions of revenues produced from those lands.
The 15 Oregon counties who receive revenues from these forest trust lands are: Benton, Clackamas, Clatsop, Columbia, Coos, Douglas, Josephine, Klamath, Lane, Lincoln, Linn, Marion, Polk, Tillamook, and Washington.
Committee Members
The Forest Trust Land Advisory Committee's roster is established during the middle of November each year when the Council for Forest Trust Land Counties elects their Board of Directors at the annual meeting of the Association of Oregon Counties.
