NetID and Enterprise ID information
NetIDs and Enterprise IDs are the TWO IDs required to access available University services.
NetID and Password
This ID provides student authentication when accessing campus specific sites and services such as e-mail, searching online databases using the Campus Library Gateway, WebCt or Illinois Compass (online course management systems), downloading site-licensed software, updating personal information in the Electronic Directory, and setting your Enterprise ID password.
NetID PASSWORDS MUST BE RESET EVERY YEAR. You will be notified, via your campus e-mail account, 2-4 weeks in advance of the expiration. Passwords can be reset online on the CITES website.
Enterprise ID and Password
This ID grants student access to the new Student Self-Service website to register for courses, to view and update personal information, to access academic history and view grades, order transcripts, etc. In most cases the Enterprise ID will be the same as the NetID, however, you may choose a different Enterprise password. To establish your Enterprise ID, log in via Bluestem using your NetID. You will be given step-by-step instructions to set up your Enterprise password.

Important Information
- You will receive your NetID and password after admission. Information regarding NetID use is provided on the CITES New to Campus Guide. You may use the NetID and NetID password to activate your e-mail account (these instructions are also available on the CITES New to Campus guide).
