Online & Off-Campus Graduate Degrees (Master's and Doctoral)
Online & Continuing Education works with various academic units on campus to offer graduate degrees online and off-campus. These degrees are taught by the same University of Illinois faculty teaching the on-campus versions of these degrees. Students enrolled in these degree programs will receive their degree from the academic unit, just as they would if they were on-campus students; OCE simply provides the administrative back-end and infrastructure needed to offer these programs online or off-campus to all types of students.
Accordingly, registration for all graduate degrees offered through us is through the Graduate College. Students will, however, register for individual courses (self-paced and semester-based) within that degree through our office. Faculty members wishing to put their graduate degrees online are encouraged to give our office a call and work with one of our program coordinators to explore the various services we can offer.
