Debate EU matters in Parliament Buildings
Registration for Mock Council 2015 now open
The next Northern Ireland Mock Council of the European Union will take place on Friday 23rd October 2015.
29 schools from across Northern Ireland will come together to debate EU matters in the impressive surroundings of Parliament Buildings, Stormont.
Full details on debate topics and themes will be circulated in June 2015. Schools can apply to participate now by returning a Mock Council 2015 Registration Form, available to download below.
Please note spaces are strictly limited to the first 29 schools who register.
How many schools can attend?
The event is restricted to only 29 schools; 28 schools representing one of the current member states and 1 school chosen to represent the Secretariat General and the European Commission. From each school, three students and one teacher participate.
Aim of the event
The event is aimed at 16-18 year olds and would be of interest to a team of students with an interest in European affairs or politics. By participating in the initiative, the students will find out more about the workings of the main decision-making body of the European Union. They will also get a chance to practice their debating and diplomacy skills in a realistic setting in the Senate Chamber in Parliament Buildings observed by teachers and students from the twenty-nine participating schools.

Registration for the 2015 Mock Council event is now open. Schools can download a registration form below. Please return completed forms by Friday 12th June 2015.
