Research Tools

Brookens Library offers services to both on campus and off campus students who are pursuing academic research and personal leisure activities. The library offers more than 500,000 volumes, and 2000 DVDs/CDs as well as more than 150 electronic research databases, and Research Guides for academic research. Also, the library offers more than 100 computers for on campus students who are conducting academic research and other personal and scholarly projects. The library also provides Multimedia equipment for on campus students.

Access Services provides students and faculty with physical, virtual and process services that include Interlibrary Loan, I-Share Loan, and material and electronic Course Reserves. The Brookens Library is a member of the I-Share borrowing group of libraries. Members of other I-Share libraries can reciprocally borrow materials but must present their college/university ID at checkout. UIS students and faculty should present their I-Card to access services or circulation staff when utilizing the varied resources available.

Students, faculty and alumni who have a Brookens Library account, can check their library account, and renew borrowed materials utilizing My Library Account under My Accounts.
