Well, in my school our teachers always tell us that we are lazy and that we won't be able to pass our exams! Sometimes I can't concentrate, and that's why I "invented" "the traffic light rule". It's really simple. It icludes three steps.
Firstly, you have to imagine the traffic light and to turn on the RED light. When you turn on this light, you have to forget all the things you don't need to do your work.
Secondly, you turn on the YELLOW light, and while you do that, you need to think about the work you are going to do. For example, you are going to do a maths exam, so when you turn on the yellow light, you need to think through some important maths rules.
Thirdly, you turn on the GREEN light, and start doing your work.
This rule always helps me to concentrate. Try it!
Good Luck!!!! :)
Hi lady96,
Thanks for sharing your traffic light tip with us. It's great! :)

You should study a lot to pass your exams ;)
Our teacher said:"Speek English loud!If you say English often, then your English will improve very fast!"I think this is a VERY IMPORTANT tip to learn English. But I have a problem with my gramma. Can someone give me some advice?
I'm going to take a speaking test, this kind of test is new to me. I'll be asked to record my speech( about discussing a topic). Then, examiners will open that record and score.
My teacher hasn't given me any tips about this :(. Can you help me with this?
Hello ann_gemini, firstly don't panic about your speaking test. Relax, there is some good advice about what to do the night before your speaking exam here.
In your exam you should speak slowly and clearly. Look at the examiner if possible when talking as this will help you relax - honestly! Try not to repeat yourself, use different phrases (such as I think... / In my opinion... / it seems to me... look at this page). And try to summarise your speech or add a conclusion at the end.
Hope that helps. Remember to come back and tell us how well you did. GOOD LUCK!

Yes.My teacher always say us belive yourself..If you belive yourself you can do everything!!!
My teacher told me:
-speak slowly (you have more time for thinking)
-if you don´t remember some word, use another
-SPEAK, SPEAK and SPEAK :)
My teacher allways says "You can do it, but you are lazy!"
My teacher says to me that I should concentrate in my exam and shouldn't hurry up.

the most important thing about exams is takeing them like a joke and to learn a lot
sometimes i speak english very very very fast and my teacher says : stop!!!!! you are talking like a robot !!!!!! i don't know what to do ...... any advice????
Hi Stela.Murati! Maybe try listening very carefully to your own voice as you are speaking. Then you will know if it's too fast, slow, loud or quiet, and you can adjust it.
I think this is quite a common thing. Has anyone else experienced this? What tips do you have? Let us know!
Jonathan (LearnEnglish Teens Team)
hi jonathan!! thank you for your advice......it helped me a lot........i don't speak like 'a robot' anymore....:P however... thankssss....
Hi Stel.Murati,
Jonathan has given you some good advice already, but I just wanted to ask if you've ever tried recording yourself speaking English? Lots of mobile phones have voice recorders. Record yourself speaking English, then listen to the recording. How do you sound? I bet you don't really sound like a robot - but you may find you can improve this way.
Best wishes, Jo (LearnEnglish Teens)
