Text

A Wall in Naples

by Andrew Motion

I have forgotten whatever it was
I wanted to say. Also the way I wanted
to say it. Form and Music.

Perhaps it had something to do with - no,
that's not it. More likely, I should just
look at whatever there is

and fix myself to the earth. This wall,
I mean, which faces me over the street.
Smooth as a shaven chin

but pocked with the holes that scaffolders left
and flicked with an overflow-flag. Which still
leaves pigeon-shit, rain-streaks, washing -

or maybe the whole thing's really a board
where tiny singing meteors strike.
How can we tell what is true? I rest my case.

I rest my case and cannot imagine a hunger
greater than this. For marks.
For messages sent by hand. For signs of life.

Water I was I was the blue,

Water I was

I was the blue, the green and gold
I was the movement in the oil.
I was the quite the deeply light, the silence
and the beginning of the time.
He was a soul and not a man
He was an eye...
A big blue eye
A spirit free an everlasting mind
The space I touched with watery heart
My soul I saw... water I was.

My poem

Thank you very much Adam. I haven't been written a poem for a long time, but I don't think this one is so good. I didn't work so much on this, only took me a while, but I really felt it. It was the explosion of the moment, you know. Your topics inspire me and make me feel like writing and, this is a very good thing to improve my English!

Hello everybody! Could you

Hello everybody!

Have a great evening!

When we observe the sky,

When we observe the sky, feel nature is a great painter. Sky is his canvas. During sunset or sunrise he washes his canvas with colors. He flicks the shed moment to moment at this time.

Sometime this canvas is covered by clouds. Darkness engulfs us. Often cloud is drawn like shaving foam. Few spell of shower blesses us. Then the big canvas looks like a smooth shaven chin.

Painter changes his mood sometime very frequently. Dark cloud masses on the canvas.  All of sudden picture changes and sunlight starts pocking form the dark cloud. Then filtering sunbeams become a pleasure for eyes.

Sometimes we feel clouds are like streaks in beautiful blue canvas.

Canvas changes in the big city. We feel skyscrapers are trying to climb like scaffold.

Night comes stealthily. There are tiny glittering lights of stars dazzle the wonderful canvas.
