The University is undergoing one of the most extensive building programs of any public university in the United States, fueled by a 42.8 billion investment to renew, rebuild, and enhance UConn's campuses, including the UConn Health Center in Farmington. The state's flagship institution of higher education, UConn is ranked No. 23 out of the 164 national public research universities in Forbes Magazine's "America's Best Colleges" rankings. It is only the second U.S. university invited into Universitas 21, an elite international network of leading research-intensive universities in 13 countries, which comprise some of the world's major institutions of higher education.
