Web Hosting

ITS provides 150 MB of disk space on a web server for Beckman Institute research groups. To obtain web space, a research group should e-mail the following information to the Help Desk: site name (mysite.beckman.uiuc.edu), faculty sponsor, research group and the NetIDs of those users who will need permission to edit the content of the web pages.

Wiki Hosting

ITS also offers a cost recovery based wiki hosting service. If your group is interested in expanding its collaboration options with a wiki, please contact the ITS Helpdesk for more information.

Computer Theft Recovery Registration

When a computer is lost or stolen on campus Security can aid in its retrieval, but only if the device has been registered on campus. CITES is now making their online registration tool available to the entire campus. To find out more about the program or to register machines, please visit: https://tools.cites-security.uiuc.edu/macreg/. The information gathered by this tool is only used in the event that a computer is lost or stolen. If you have any comments or questions please let CITES know by emailing securitysupport@illinois.edu.

Software Checkout

ITS has a variety of software installation CDs available for checkout to the Beckman community. To check out installation CDs for any of the following packages, stop by the Help Desk in Room 5345. The CITES WebStore also has many applications available for download. Licensing details may vary.

Antivirus
CITES provides free VirusScan antivirus software to UIUC faculty, staff and students. You can download Mac and Windows versions of VirusScan from the CITES WebStore.

If you think you may already have a virus, you can download a copy of the CITES Emergency Virus Removal CD.
