Detailed Description:
Exchange 2010 will be patched Sunday, September 18 between
8:00 AM and 12:00 PM. Systems will be updated in a staggered
fashion to minimize end user impact. This requires a restart
of services and may force some clients to disconnect and
reconnect
Block 4200
Block 4300
Block 4600
Monday 9/19/2011 5:00AM - 7:30AM
ITS will be performing network maintenance this Monday morning during the regularly scheduled maintenance time of 5:00AM to 7:30AM. Network connectivity will be affected for blocks 4200, 4300, and 4600 on Monday Sept 19th. If you experience any problems with network connectivity after this time please contact the ITS Help Desk.
If there are any concerns about this scheduled network interruption please contact ITS Help Desk ASAP.
September 16, 2011CITES networking will be upgrading the software on the routers in Node 1
(for the most part, north of Green St.) and the between-node routers between
5:30 - 6:30AM on Thursday, Sept.1.
During the times they are rebooting, network traffic will not go through them.
Existing connections might be dropped and new connections through the
rebooting router will not be made during the actual reboot times.
We do not expect the network to be out for the entire reserved time, most
interruptions will be 5 minutes or less. Buildings with a single backbone
connection will loose their connectivity. Buildings (i.e., Beckman Institute) that have redundant uplinks may stay up or experience much shorter outages.
If you currently connect to the campus wireless network through UIwpa2, you will need to configure your computer to use the new IllinoisNet network name by Monday, August 9th to avoid any disruption in service. To configure IllinoisNet on your laptop see the directions at http://www.cites.illinois.edu/wireless/IllinoisNet
