Georgia College alumnus John Hennecken took first prize in the 2012 Southeastern Composers League Composition Contest for his composition “Brass Quintet.” After Hennecken’s win Dr. Maureen Horgan, associate professor of music, premiered the prize-winning piece during her spring trombone recital.
