During 2012, Gov. Nathan Deal signed the 2012-2013 state budget that included $9.6 million in bond funding for the renovation of Ennis Hall. Built in 1918 and designed as a residence hall, Ennis Hall is a historic, four-story masonry and wood frame structure located beside the Old Governor’s Mansion at Georgia College.
Alumnus named director of alumni, parent relations

Matt Mize Matt Mize“Matt’s first-hand knowledge of Georgia College as both a student and a staff member coupled with his experience working within the University System of Georgia make him the perfect person to represent the university to our alumni and parents,” said Bill Doerr, associate vice president for development and alumni relations.
Mize earned a bachelor’s degree in political science in 2006 and a mater’s degree in public administration in 2008.
He began working at Georgia College as a graduate assistant in admissions in 2006 while pursuing his master’s degree. Mize became assistant director of admissions in January 2007.
Mize left Georgia College in 2010 for a position as coordinator of academic support in 2010 at Gainesville State College, returning April in his new role.
“Georgia College is a place I’m passionate about,” Mize said. “As director of alumni & parent relations, I have the opportunity to make an impact on our connections with graduates and the parents of our students. I look forward to this new challenge.”
