March 18, 2008Seelig will lecture at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 3 in the Museum Education room. The lecture sponsored by Georgia College Department of Art is free and open to the public.
The distinguished visiting professor in the Craft/Fibers program at University of the Arts in Philiadelphia has lectured extensively on fiber art and craft at the Korean National University of the Arts, Banff Centre in Alberta, The Royal Collefe of Art, London and the Gerritt Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam.
Seelig has been a two-time recipient of the individual National Endowment of the Arts grant, and his art and installations have been exhibited worldwide. His work has been included in more than 30 major museum exhibitions in the United States, Europe, Japan and Korea with many solo and group exhibitions in museums, universities, and private galleries. Seelig recently has been named a Fellow of the American Crafts Council and a member of its board.
