Caring Program

I CAUGHT YOU CARING! AWARD PROGRAM

The “I Caught You Caring!” card program is a great way to reward fellow faculty and staff whom you see providing exceptional customer service.

The Quality Service Action Team of the Business & Finance Division implemented this program in September 1997. The program is designed to foster a student-focused, service-oriented culture within the university by encouraging employees (which includes students employed by the university) to provide exceptional customer service, which goes “above and beyond the call of duty.”

GCSU faculty, staff, administrators, and students are encouraged to participate in this recognition program. You don’t have to limit yourself to service you’ve received personally. If you see someone giving a student or employee great service, you can make the award. If you are lucky enough, or caring enough to receive a card, be sure to display it where everyone can see it.

Here’s a reminder of how the program works:

  1. You “catch” an employee giving you or someone else outstanding customer service above and beyond the call of duty.
  2. You complete an “I Caught You Caring!” card and send it to the Office of the Vice President for Business and Finance, CBX 021 or complete the online form
  3. The card is authenticated and forwarded to the recipient’s supervisor. If this is the first time an employee has received a card, he/she will also receive an “I Caught You Caring!” lapel pin.
  4. The supervisor then presents the card and the pin to the employee.

It’s that easy! We are thrilled with the success of this program and hope that this year will be even more successful. Remember, our motto, “What gets rewarded, gets repeated.”

Cards are placed in cardholders in central areas around campus, which includes:

Posters will be hung in strategic places on campus listing recipients so that everyone knows what a wonderful job those employees have done in providing quality customer service.

If you have any questions regarding the program, please feel free to call the Office of the Vice President for Business and Finance at 445-5148.
