  Two graduate students at the University of Illinois have won Intel Ph.D. Fellowships for the 2013-14 academic year. Fifteen fellowships were awarded nationwide.
• Thirteen U. of I. undergraduates awarded Gilman Scholarships

  Thirteen University of Illinois undergraduate students have been awarded scholarships from the Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship Program. The scholarships are for students studying abroad in summer 2013, fall 2013 or the 2013-14 academic year.
• Allan M. Stratman named executive director of U. of I. Facilities

  Allan M. Stratman, a captain in the U.S. Navy and the executive officer of the Navy Facilities Engineering Command, Southwest, has been chosen to be the executive director of Facilities at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

  John P. Wilkin has been named university librarian and dean of libraries at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, effective Aug. 16, pending approval by the U. of I. Board of Trustees at its July 24 meeting in Chicago.
• Avery Brundage Scholarships awarded

  Fifteen University of Illinois students from the Urbana, Chicago and Springfield campuses have been awarded Avery Brundage Scholarships for excellence in academics and athletics. Each winner will receive a $2,500 award for the 2013-2014 academic year.
