  • Busy orientation week and a boat cruise

The day before, Wednesday, MBA1s participated in a Career Services Workshop and an etiquette lunch at the Alumni Center.  Other activities for the day included a team-building activity, case analysis workshop, and an Illinois Business Consulting presentation. Students also heard from an MBA2 student panel and attended a local alumni reception in the Business Instructional Facility.

I think the MBA1s were thankful to have Friday morning off after the cruise.  On Friday evening there was a huge scavenger hunt.  The scavenger hunt took them across the entire campus.  The evening was followed by another reception for the students at a local restaurant.  On Saturday morning the students gave back to community through our Community Service Day.  That evening there was a wine tasting at the Business Instructional Facility.  On Sunday students volunteered for Special Olympics Bowling and attended Quad Day.  Quad Day is a campus-wide event where students can learn about the hundreds of clubs and organizations at ILLINOIS.

One of our MBA1s has started his own blog titled "The B-School Boy Blog,"  please check it out at www.bschoolboy.blogspot.com.  This is a great look at the initial impressions of a first-year MBA student as he adjusts to his new life as a graduate student.
