The student experience - some lessons and implications

Student support systems and pathways for international students have become - for many countries in search of the 'best brains' - part of the universities' marketing strategy and an important tool for attracting high standard students. The resources available, however, are often scarce and force institutions (or countries) to make choices of what to offer to whom and who should pay the bill.
