Student experience: global issues in the key markets

5 December 2008 - 09:30

The quality of the international student experience has shot to the top of the agenda in many countries, as pressure has increased from rapidly rising expectations and the growth in global competition. This workshop, which marks UKCISA's 40th anniversary, will look at some of the principal issues and developments that will influence that agenda and determine future 'attractiveness factors' - in the UK, Australia and New Zealand. What will students look for in the future? How do we ensure the rhetoric matches the reality? Do codes of practice help to guarantee and raise standards? How influential are job opportunities, careers advice and graduate employment? How is each country's experience rated? What are the views of government and the sector? The workshop will include outline presentations from each of the three country perspectives on the big issues in those markets, followed by a lively Q & A session and panel discussion.
