New directions in research co-operation with India
5 December 2008 - 09:30- Research Councils UK - introducing new programmes for India
- Wellcome Trust - new initiatives for India
India wants to increase its high-quality university and research capacity and it is seeking foreign partnerships to support its strategies. A wide mix of foreign government and independent foundations are active in developing new areas and approaches to research co-operation. However, the information available on initiatives and possible funding support is difficult to access; this session seeks to provide new clarity, drawing on examples from Research Councils UK and the India Wellcome Trust.
This session will give delegates a better understanding of:
- new policies and opportunities across Indian research for encouraging foreign partnership
- new India initiatives from the UK Research Councils
- changing approaches of independent foundations.
