5 December 2008 - 15:15This poster presentation will outline the Edinburgh University School of Education Short Course, a two-week residential course for those leading, planning and managing education in a time of profound change, driven by developments in information and communication technologies. These technologies are engines of growth and tools for empowerment, offering greater access to information and a new approach to the role of education. Education systems should be moved to accommodate these changes. This unique course has been specially designed for policy-makers and leaders of education at a national, regional or school level to teach participants how to manage and promote educational change in the context of information and communication technologies. The course will cover the following subjects: Understanding ICT in education, Education for a knowledge economy, New paradigms of learning, Structures of education and Managing change.
