Research Facilities

Scientific research is one of the major foundations of psychology as a field and a profession. The Department of Psychology offers students many opportunities for research experience, whether as part of fieldwork, independent study, a research assistantship, or a thesis project. Research is conducted under the supervision of department faculty. Students at various levels – undergraduate, Masters, and Ph.D. – interact with one another and with post-doctoral researchers, further enhancing the research experience. Moreover, many research participants are student volunteers in the CCNY Subject Pool, providing these students with research experience from the perspective of the participant. Research projects are carried out in one of the well-equipped laboratories in the department, including the Antrobus EEG laboratory, the sleep laboratory, the pregnancy and infant laboratory, and the Children's Research Unit.
