Dr. Itha H. Harewood is an Internist at Morris Heights Health Center.

Itha H. Harewood- Sophie Davis Class of 1996 - Itha H. Harewood is an Internist at Morris Heights Health Center. She provides comprehensive care to adult patients in an outpatient setting. Dr. Harewood is also an Adjunct Clinical Professor at Sophie Davis, School of Biomedical Education, where she teaches Introduction to Primary Care Practice and is responsible for weekly teaching and precepting of medical students on the principle of community based primary care.

Dr. Harewood graduated from Sophie Davis, School of Biomedical Education with a B.S. and went to New York Medical College for her Doctorate of Medicine. She completed her residency Program in Social Intern Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Harewood was an Attending Physician at Beth Abraham Health Services from 2001 - 2004, where she managed overall care of geriatric, physically disabled, and mentally challenged patients. She also performed inpatient treatment for various illnesses, and maintained the health and well being of patients. 

Dr. Harewood holds a New York State License and is Board Certified by American Board of Internal Medicine. She has also done research at Montefiore Medical Corp, where she conducted a community-based survey to investigate health benefits, weight concerns, dietary practices, and barriers to proper nutrition of obese patients in the South Bronx.
