The City College Master’s Program in English has entered into a consortium with 6 partners in the European Union (the University of Graz – Austria; the University of Pécs – Hungary; the University of Bamberg – Germany; the Ca’Foscari University of Venice – Italy; the University of Paris-Denis Diderot-France, and Roehampton University, UK) to offer a joint Master’s Degree in English and American Studies. The program offers students pursuing a Master’s at City in English Literature or Language and Literacy the possibility of simultaneously acquiring an international degree from the consortium and spending a semester abroad at one of the partner institutions, possibly with scholarship support*. For more information, go to http://www.jointdegree.eu/, click on "Programmes," and then click on "MA English and American Studies." The program is open to both prospective and continuing MA students, but the number of places per semester is limited. If you are interested in applying or have additional questions about the program, please contact by e-mail the City College liaison, Prof. Joshua Wilner ( firstname.lastname@example.org). Although the latest application round is over and we don't yet have new deadlines, out-of-cycle applications will be considered. You must apply separately to both programs (Joint Degree and City College), as admission to one does not guarantee admission to the other.
*Currently, the University of Graz is offering a one semester scholarship of 300 Euros (approx. $400) a month for five months, with an additional travel stipend of up to 700 Euros (approx. $900) to two students from City College. Other scholarship opportunities may emerge.
