Philosophy

Consistent with the historical mission of the college, our programs seek to establish a community of leaders and learners, inclusive of those of diverse economic, national origin and economic backgrounds, who can successfully serve as leaders in the schools of New York City. The primary mission of the programs in Educational Leadership is to prepare candidates who:

• Promote educational equality and excellence;
• Are change agents who are models and supervisors of best practice; and
• Are armed with the knowledge, skills, and dispositions necessary to exercise transformative and effective leadership in complex, diverse, high need educational environments.
