• Undergraduate students in Bilingual Education are advised by Professor Dina López.

Upcoming Deadlines

• Spring '13 in-person registration will take place Tuesday, January 22 from 12-5pm in NA 4/204 and 4/211.  Limited availability registration will also take place on Thursday, January 24 from 12-5pm in NAC 4/204 and 4/211.
• March 1, 2013 is the deadline to apply for June 2013 graduation.
• March 15, 2013 is the deadline for Fall 2013 applications for admission.
• April 2013 is the deadline for Summer and Fall '13 applications for student teaching and TESOL practicum (deadline is for applications to be submitted to advisor).

The Programs in Bilingual Education and TESOL in the School of Education prepare teachers for service in a culturally and linguistically diverse society, with the goal of developing and supporting proficiency and literacy in students' native languages and in additional (second) languages.

Graduate Programs:

  (pairs with another certification)
• Bilingual Special Education*
  (Grades 1-6)
• Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)

*Bilingual Programs are offered for Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Haitian Creole. Please check with the program director regarding bilingual programs in other languages.
