The School of Education at The City College of New York is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), 2010 Massachusetts Ave., NW, Suite 500, Washington, DC 20036; phone (202) 466-7496. This accreditation covers initial teacher preparation programs and advanced educator preparation programs. NCATE is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation to accredit programs for the preparation of teachers and other professional school personnel.

The City College of New York School of Education has been accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) since 2004.

The School of Education faculty and administration value the processes of accreditation and program approval. The accreditation process encourages university personnel and public school partners to re-evaluate program components and program coherence to ensure that national and state standards are addressed. Feedback obtained during this process will be used for quality assurance and improvement of educator programs.
