To apply to the Center for Worker Education, you must first attend an Admissions Workshop. You should bring with you the following materials:

1. Application fee. Money order or certified bank check only; no cash or personal checks. The fee is $65.00 for freshman and $70.00 for transfer students. There is no application fee for students transferring from another CUNY college in consecutive semesters. Students who have attended City College at 138th and Convent Avenue or the Center for Worker Education at 25 Broadway in the past may defer their $10.00 Re-Entry fee to their first semester tuition bill.

2. Unofficial Student Transcripts. For transfer students, photocopies are fine. We must see your transcripts for advisement purposes. At the workshop, we will give you forms to request “official” transcripts to be sent directly from your former college(s). If you do not have student copies, request them or obtain them directly from your former school so that you can bring them to the workshop.

3. Transfer students from other CUNY colleges must provide an official copy of passing scores on the CUNY ACT Exams or CUNY Skills Assessment Tests. Without official scores, you will be required to take the exam again. Transfer students with 45 or more credits from fully-accredited non-CUNY colleges with may be exempt from this requirement.

4. A photocopy of High School Diploma or GED with scores is required for freshmen and transfer students who have completed fewer than 24 college credits.

5. Documentation of Immunizations for all students born after 1956. You must show one mumps, one rubella, and two measles vaccinations (at least 30 days apart), or a titer blood test showing immunity to all three. Pregnant or nursing women should not get these vaccinations. Acceptable proof of immunization may include a childhood vaccination card, records from prior schools, or records from your doctor or healthcare provider. Titer test records should include the numerical “reference range”.

6. Alien Registration Card for non-citizens to document your status as a New York State resident in order to qualify for in-state tuition rates.

7. SAT scores are not required for admission. However, if you have take the SAT’s and have scored 480 or over on verbal and/or math, please bring these official scores. They may exempt you from CUNY entrance exam requirements.
