Position Description and Duties
FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Earth and Atmospheric Science Department at The City College of New York is searching for a candidate with strong research expertise in terrestrial resources and modeling. We seek a candidate with research and teaching interest over a broad range of specializations, to include but not limited to, carbon cycle geochemistry; weathering and critical zone evolution; ecohydrology; terrestrial paleoclimate; and landscape evolution. The candidate is expected to have or generate an active research program; senior candidates are expected to have a strong history of research funding from federal agencies. The successful candidate is expected establish a vigorous, externally funded research program that expands the scope of our department while complementing and integrating with our existing strengths. The candidate will also be required to participate in undergraduate and graduate teaching. A demonstrated strength in Geographic Information Sciences or remote sensing is desirable.
Qualifications and RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS
Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
