CityONECard
The CityONEcard is your new and improved City College ID with added features and benefits. It is a secure ID that enhances safety on campus. It is valid for building access and all services. And it serves as a cash card – a convenient payment method for shopping and dining while on campus! The card also comes with bonus and savings features only available to CityONECard users.
All CCNY students, faculty and staff members must obtain a CityONE ID Card. Each card includes a unique City College ID number, a magnetic stripe, (which works just like a bank debit or credit card), and it has to be swiped through a reader to process your payment. The card also has a bar code which is used in the campus libraries.
The CityONECard allows you to:
- Access all CCNY and CUNY buildings and use the libraries and other services
- Purchase food at all campus dining locations, The Towers C-Store and most vending machines
- Purchase textbooks, supplies and merchandise in the campus bookstore
- Attend City College sporting, arts and entertainment events
The CityONECard has two separate accounts into which you may deposit money: Dining Dollars and Flex - Beaver Bucks. It is similar to a debit card and can be used at point-of-sale locations on campus:
- All CCNY dining locations accept Dining Dollars and Beaver Bucks
- Most CCNY vending machines accept Dining Dollars and Beaver Bucks
- The City College Bookstore only accepts Beaver Bucks
How to get your CityONECard
CityONECards are issued in the ID Office, located in the NAC 1/204. You must either present a current City College ID or personal ID (e.g., a driver’s license, a state-issued non-driver ID, or a passport). If you do not present a current CCNY ID, you must also provide proof of payment of your –tuition – the Bursar’s receipt or the eSIMs bill. Once your photograph is taken, the CityONECard will be issued to you.If you lose your CityONECard, you must visit the Bursar’s Office to pay a $5.00 replacement card fee. You must then present this receipt as well as your Bursar’s receipt to the ID Office to obtain your replacement card.
To ensure the durability and validity of your CityONECard:
- Keep it in a wallet or cardholder
- Keep it away from magnets and computers to avoid magnetic damage
- Do not punch holes in your card – only the card office should punch a hole to secure a lanyard
- Do not tamper with the information or picture printed on the card
- Do not wash the card
Dining Dollars & Flex - Beaver Bucks
The CityONEcard contains separate accounts for food, vending and bookstore purchases.
Dining Dollars may be used to purchase food and beverages at all on campus dining and vending machines and offer added Bonus and Savings benefits (see below). Dining Dollars balances will carry-over from fall to spring but expire at the end of the spring semester and will be zeroed from your account.
Flex - Beaver Bucks comprise a flexible spending account that may be used at all campus locations that accept the CityONECard. Flex dollars may be used in the campus bookstore and at all dining and vending locations equipped with a card reader. Beaver Bucks never expire and carry over from semester to semester and year to year. Flex - Beaver Bucks do NOT offer bonus or tax savings benefits.
You may view your account balances and transactions by logging in to your CityONECard account.

CityONECard FAQ’s
What happens if I lose my CityONECard? You should access your online eAccount or notify the ID Card office located in the NAC 1/204 to change the card status to “LOST” to eliminate the possibility of someone finding and using your card. If you then find your card you may return to your eAccount and change the status back to “FOUND,” reactivating the card and account capabilities. You may obtain a new card for a replacement fee at the ID, at which time your old card will be deactivated and no longer work. Please be aware that you remain responsible for card transactions and costs prior to deactivation. Falsifying, altering, or misusing your own or anyone else's ID card in any way is strictly prohibited by the college.
Can I withdraw cash from my CityONECard fund accounts?
No. Your CityONEcard is not an ATM card. You do not have the ability to withdraw cash from it.
At the end of the year, what happens to cash remaining in Beaver Bucks accounts?
Beaver Bucks automatically roll over from one semester to the next. Upon withdrawal, graduation, or termination of employment from the college, holders must request refunds in writing. Proof of separation from the college may be required; all City College liabilities must be settled before the check will be processed. Beaver Bucks never expire.
What is the difference between Dining Dollars and Beaver Bucks accounts?
Dining Dollars are associated with food & beverage purchases and can be used only in campus dining facilities and equipped vending machines. Dining Dollars expire at the end of the academic year (spring term) with all accounts zeroed. You must spend your Dining Dollars down to a zero balance; you may not withdraw the balance at the end of the academic year. Watch for communications announcing “use by or lose” date(s).
Why can't parents view students' account balances and activity online?
According to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act ( FERPA), we are unable to share this information. FERPA protects students' privacy. However, the student may share the password to their online account, allowing a parent to sign in.
How can I view my account?
You may access your account online via the eAccounts site. Here you can see your balances and transactions for each account. You may also make deposits using a credit card. Refer to How to Deposit Fund - a convenience fee may apply for online deposits
Do staff and faculty receive the same bonus and tax savings benefits?

Flex account dollars are accepted at the campus Bookstore for all your textbook and supplies, at select vending machines around campus with Readers and at all dining locations. Flex account purchases do NOT provide the tax savings benefit your Dining Dollars account offers.
